Birthday card

Ahhhh I just love making birthday cards for family and friends & this time it was for my "little" sisters 18th birthday! I love the excitement of thinking new ideas to make the cards personal and not any old shop brought design!
For this card I got my inspiration from a few images I've spotted on pinterest, of people making mini buntings which is why I thought I would test it out and it made the perfect finish to this vintage style card! (Her birthday party is also going to be all about "vintage")
So, give it a go! Think of a theme/drawing/wording that you know would make that special person smile and get crafting - they really will appreciate it :-)

I have a wedding coming up soon also and would also like to test this cute bunting idea on the cake as a form of topper, spelling "MR & MRS" - pics to follow!

Cool graphics

{{WOW}} check these aaaamazing typographic prints by Matthew Kaven - I just can't decide on a favourite - the use of colours, wording, layouts and fonts are all so bold! Not only will they brighten your day up but also add a bit of inspiration to your home. I just love...everything about them & you can check out more here

Party time

Hey!

I'm so upset I've not been able to blog lately which is why I'm designing a "blogger timetable" to help organise blog posts so any advice would be much appreciated, I need all the help!

So, for the past few weeks I've been arranging and making decorations for an engagement & a birthday party which has kept me super busy so I thought its only about time   I share a few images of what I've been creating for the special occasions...

The engagement party was actually mine and my fiance Luke! We had a fabulous night and it was lovely to celebrate with our special family and friends! For the theme I (I say "I" as Luke trusts my decisions haha) decided on different tones of pinks, such as pastel pinks and peaches mixed with a lot of white and other pastel shades of blue and lemon.

I loved the idea of all the different colours working together to brighten up the room - we had over 100 balloons to fill the room. Some we left hanging around the centre of the dance floor with different length ribbons others we grouped together in 3's/4's and tied on the back of chairs at different lengths again. It created this real depth, a jungle of balloons, almost.

I hunted around for different buntings and banners relating to "engagement" but found none that would go with the colour and style of other decorations. Using heart shapes created on different textured and coloured papers to create a lovely bunting with a difference. I also used plain white doilies and glitter to create alphabet banners spelling our names, which i hope to sell both soon in the shop!

I loved every minute of thinking new ideas and looking for inspiration to create! I had the most amount of fun and look forward to the next party! :-)
