Mud & Love

Hi people!

Sorry I've not posted in a while, been super busy! We went to a festival last weekend which then got cancelled on the last day due to the bad weather - apparently we had 2 weeks worth of rain in 1 night! Regardless of the weather we was not ready to leave & wanted to party in the mud more...but we've now seemed to have spent the last week cleaning mud off everything!!

Today I (Katie) worked in the stall, a busy day moving & making space for new stock! Which is why I thought I would do a little post on the latest items to go into our space to keep you up to date with what I've been up too!

We like to keep out facebook page updated daily so make sure you check it out! Please give us a "like" & share us to your friends! Have a lovely weekend all xx

Wedding bells.....

So you may have read our previous post about a recent wedding that we helped made decorations for. It was all about handmade & a rustic vintage style. We've put together a mini collage so you can see the final outcome, it looked lovely! Beautiful wild flowers in different jars filled the room, along with bunting of different sizes & handmade jam....mmm....

Over here at OHMY POLKA we love love love event design! Its something we are really passionate about which is why we will be adding upcycled confetti to the store soon, and eventually we will be adding different themed bunting and other lush decor items for those special occasions.

Ombre is for Summer

We <3 Ombre......... Ombre is the French word for "Shaded" & we just can't get enough of it over here (I've even dip dyed my hair....) When we visited the stall today we noticed a lovely vintage chest of drawers painted in different blues (below) and it inspired me to look more into refurbishing your old furniture for a quirky look! It doesn't take long and creates a great focus point in a room...

You could try this trend on chairs, stairs, mirrors... get creative

Not only for furniture but you could apply this idea for party decoration. These flowers look sooo pretty & create an exciting display

Choose a colour palette that works well with the rest of your interior, soft pastels look great, depending on the amount of draws/space - slowly increase the darkness of the colour. Choose colours carefully & remember to practice with the different shades, you want them to work together.
